Lora Lake Apartments
Microbial Evaluation, Health and Safety Plan, and Training
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Port Construction Services - The Port of Seattle
Asked by senior Port of Seattle management to provide support for anticipated litigation surrounding the disposition of the Lora Lake Apartments, Rose Environmental reviewed inspection data produced by internal PCS personnel and devised an inspection and sampling strategy to determine the nature and extent of microbial (mold) contamination discovered in numerous apartment units. Rose Environmental employed infrared (IR) thermography to document where inappropriate moisture had intruded.
Rose Environmental successfully assisted the Port of Seattle (POS) in demonstrating that mold contamination discovered in the apartments was not attributable to current owner activities, but had occurred prior to ownership of the property.
Additionally, Rose Environmental reviewed prior environmental site assessment reports to develop a health and safety plan for hazardous waste operations (HAZWOPER) to be conducted by POS crews at the site. Rose Environmental provided site-specific training and data interpretation for work crews entering and working in and around potentially contaminated buildings, soils, and groundwater at the site.
